FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is QuickBooks Online included?
If your business doesn’t already use QuickBooks Online (or another accounting software we can work with), we can set you up with QuickBooks Online for an additional cost based on your business’s needs. QuickBooks pricing varies by plan.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Your first year with us is contract-free, so if you decide we’re not a good fit, you can cancel anytime.
After your first year, we’ll move to a 12-month agreement. That’s also when we’ll review your pricing to make sure it still fits your needs. Hopefully your business keeps growing, and we’ll review pricing each year as it does.
Price evaluations are a good thing, since it means your business is growing! We only stay in business if you stay in business, so our goals are aligned.
What if my business’s needs don’t fit your pricing structure?
Schedule a meeting with us here and let’s see how we can best meet your needs.
Do you do cleanup work? If so, how much do you charge?
Yes! The cost of cleanup work depends on how much cleanup is needed and how far back your books need to go. Generally, cleanup work starts at $125/month. Give us a call and we can give you a better idea of pricing.
We’re also happy to do just the cleanup if that’s all you need. Heck, we’ll even coach you as a DIYer if you’ve decided to do your own bookkeeping! Reach out and see how we can help.
Your pricing seems higher than other services that say they’ll do my books for cheaper. Why is that?
That’s a fair question. Many low-cost bookkeeping services lean heavily on AI tools with little human review, and they tend to be impersonal: you’re a number in a queue. Many also outsource the actual bookkeeping offshore, where skill levels can vary a lot from one person to the next.
That may be fine if you’re not concerned about mistakes in your books. But if you want books that are reliable and trustworthy down to the transaction level, you need people who understand accounting overseeing the process.
Bookkeeping and accounting were among the first careers people predicted AI would make obsolete, and it’s true that bookkeeping is a great fit for AI. But it still takes real accounting knowledge to use AI tools and software in a way that produces reliable, trustworthy books. In the end, the whole point of accounting is to produce reports that management can trust to make business decisions. If the reports can’t be trusted, management can’t do its job.
Think about airplanes: the technology exists for planes to fly themselves, but we still don’t trust a plane without a pilot in the cockpit. Your business’s reporting is just as important. You deserve a trusted professional who understands your business and its reports, so you can make decisions without “flying blind.”
A lot has changed with AI as a tool, and we use it where it helps. We just make sure we’re using the right tools the right way.
Is my information secure? I’m not comfortable with AI handling my finances.
We understand. We only use AI when it helps us do the work more efficiently, and when we can do without it, we don’t use it at all.
When we do use AI, we use paid, professional-grade tools from Anthropic rather than free or unvetted AI models. And we never put your sensitive information into an AI tool without your consent.
